RY PATTEN
I’ve lived in NYC for three years now, and I have to say this place is full of weirdos… I love it.
I’m from Texas, and that means three things: my smile is big, my voice is loud, and I’m always down to meet a new friend over a good meal. I’d like to think the most impressive skill I have is blending the heart of southern hospitality and New York grit.
Hi, I’m Ry!
I’m passionate about portraying universal human experiences in unconventional ways, through stories that simultaneously make you say “what is happening” and “how did they know”.
I want to make weird art. Queer art!
I have this opportunity to create whimsical, beautiful, thought-provoking work that not only sparks something within my audience but also sparks something within myself. HOW COOL IS THAT!? I’m very grateful to be one of the lucky few who have identified their passion in life, but also that I’m stubborn enough to chase it like a fool in love.
For as long as I can remember, performing has been the only thing I’ve wanted to do. Growing up, I would put on performances and force my family to watch them. On top of that, I would charge them an admission fee (hey, even at an early age, I knew the arts needed funding). During award seasons, I would dress my Barbies up for all the red carpet events and have a costume change for every commercial break. Now, as I graduate from NYU Tisch with my BFA in Drama, I realize that little me was onto something.

Trying to get to know someone through a website is like going on an awkward first date….
Might as well do both :)
